Brighton Zoo and Blue Zoo team up with Moshi Monsters

Ready, Steady, Moshi!

We are incredibly excited to share some massive news from the studio! Brighton Zoo, alongside our big sister studio Blue Zoo, has officially teamed up as the production partners to bring the Moshi Monsters universe to television! Set to launch in late 2028, we are co-developing this fantastic project alongside Wheel In Motion and the critically acclaimed creator and writer Curtis Jobling, best known for his work on Bob the Builder and Raa Raa the Noisy Lion.

Billed as Teen Titans meets Gumball, the upcoming series will deliver fast-paced, character-driven stories that target children aged 6-12 while continuing to engage the long-time fans who grew up with the brand. Blue Zoo will bring our world-class animation experience to the project. Meanwhile, Brighton Zoo will leverage its digital-first expertise to develop an accompanying YouTube offering.

Originally launched in 2008 as an online game, Moshi Monsters attracted over 100 million registered users worldwide, became the number one licensed property in the UK, and generated over $1 billion in retail sales. This new television series will lead a broader, coordinated multi-platform relaunch of the entire brand, which includes a brand-new game entering Early Access this summer ahead of a global launch in 2027, followed by new toy and merchandise lines in 2028.

George Sawyer, Creative Director Brighton Zoo Studios , said, “Moshi Monsters is a brilliantly rich universe, packed full of tongue-in-cheek, comedy chaos. We are bringing everyone’s favourite characters to life in a new and exciting way, whilst remaining true to the spirit that captured so many imaginations and charmed everyone so much in the first place.”

This project marks an exciting new milestone for Blue Zoo and Brighton Zoo, and we are thrilled to collaborate with Wheel in Motion to bring this iconic world to a brand-new generation of screens. We cannot wait to share more of the journey with you as development progresses, so be sure to keep an eye out for updates!
